Chris Dodd - Response Director
Chris has now been working for over 25 years in the Telecare industry. After qualifying at what was then Newcastle Polytechnic as an Electronics Engineer he began his career designing hardwired scheme based systems, some of which are still in use today. Chris then moved on to manage the R&D Department of a leading telecare supplier providing systems for both the UK and overseas markets. During this period he participated in the early EU R&D projects aimed at broadening the service offering which in turn led to the telecare and telehealth propositions we know today.
In the mid 90's Chris joined the Tunstall Group working in product marketing and supporting our subsidiaries in establishing telecare in other Countries. To support this new role he undertook a post graduate qualification at Manchester Met and became a Member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing. More recently Chris has been working to develop supportive alarm monitoring services for providers in the UK.
Today, as Response Director Chris has operational responsibility for Tunstall Response, one of the UK's largest alarm monitoring centres plus the specification and implementation of the PNC range of call monitoring and management systems. In addition, he chairs the British Standards Institute Technical Committee for social alarms as well as being the convener of the European Cenelec Committee, tasked with producing a range of harmonised product and system standards.
