Joe Killen
Joe Killen BA(Hons) German, French & Economics, Dipl Spanish – Managing Director Southern Europe
A fluent speaker of German, French, Spanish and of course English, Joe started out at North Tyneside College where he gained a City and Guilds in Electronics. He then moved on to Newcastle Polytechnic where he received an honours degree in German, French and Economics. He also obtained a diploma in Spanish from the University of Salamanca in Spain.
Prior to Tunstall, Joe began his career at Bonas Machine Co in Gateshead, an electronic textile machinery manufacturer, where he held positions in sales and service, and ran the company’s German subsidiary for 3 years.
Joe joined Tunstall in 1997 as Export Sales Manager and then became Tunstall's International Director in 2000. A capacity that has enabled him to be involved in the purchase of distribution chains in Belgium and Ireland. He also saw Tunstall's market share in Spain grow threefold during his time as International Director. He is now Managing Director of Southern Europe.
In his spare time he enjoys playing squash, tennis, piano, bridge and chess as well as going swimming.
