Kevin Alderson - Public Sector Policy Director

Starting his life in the north, Kevin attended St Michael's College in Leeds before making a move south to Bristol University where he gained his degree in Geography.

Kevin's whole career has been spent in the computing and telecommunications sector, having held a number of roles in a range of companies, including Unisys and Hewlett Packard. He returned to his native Yorkshire in 1998, joining Tunstall as UK Sales Director, proving that the fast changing world of high technology is now a reality for the specialist world of community alarms and public sector business.

Throughout his years at Tunstall, Kevin has been directly involved with all the major telecare initiatives within the UK, including West Lothian, Kent and Northamptonshire.  He therefore has detailed knowledge of what it takes to be successful at making telecare services a reality.

Over the past three years, as the newly created Public Sector Policy Director, Kevin has concentrated on understanding the rapidly changing nature of the Public Sector market, driven by the government's focus on independent living, and how this impacts the solutions that Tunstall must deliver.  Now that the government has supported their focus with significant funding, (the £80m PTG fund), Kevin is now engaged alongside CSSRs in helping them to formulate their policies and strategies for maximizing the impact of the new money.

A keen sportsman, Kevin plays basketball, golf and football whilst also following the fortunes of Leeds United. Outside of sport he enjoys reading, eating out with his wife, and watching his daughters play football.
