Lord Green Visits Tunstall During International Trading Campaign

Trade and Investment Minister visits Yorkshire to meet the region's pioneers of international trade, and to drive growth into the area.

The UK Trade and Investment Minister, Lord Green, visited the headquarters of leading telehealthcare provider Tunstall Healthcare yesterday, as part of a tour of the region's pioneers of international trade and investment.

During the visit, Lord Green was shown Tunstall's innovative solutions and manufacturing facilities and how the company's telehealth and telecare solutions are being used by Governments, public sector bodies and private organisations worldwide to support existing healthcare provision, promote independent living and offer a cost-effective, personalised alternative to institutional care.  This in turn helps vulnerable people and those living with long-term conditions to lead more fulfilling and independent lives.

Lord Green commented: "My visit to Yorkshire provided an opportunity to meet businesses in the region who are leading the way in exporting on the global stage, and to emphasise to others how important exporting is to developing their business and securing their futures in markets around the world."

The Minister was accompanied by Mark Robson, regional International Trade Director for UK Trade & Investment, which provides a range of support to local businesses pursue opportunities to trade internationally.

UK & Ireland Managing Director Simon Arnold commented: "Tunstall was delighted to host this visit by Lord Green, which provided an opportunity for us to share with the Minister our growth ambitions, the range of countries in which we operate and trade with, and perhaps, more importantly how our solutions save money, save lives and support the transformation of health and social care."

On Friday 23rd September, Tunstall Healthcare Group strengthened its presence in the US health and care market with the acquisition of New York-based American Medical Alert Corp (AMAC), a leading provider of remote health monitoring and communication services.  The company already operates in 32 countries across the world and employs more than 1,100 people.
